Music Works Iowa is excited to offer a new Kiddo and Caregiver music experience. Newborns through preschool-aged students will begin their musical journey with the support of a trusted adult, led by certified, experienced music educator (and toddler mom) Kelsey Legore. Each week we will explore the rich world of music using our voices, instruments, books, games, and movement. The first session’s theme will be Exploring Color!
Class Offerings:
Tuesdays, 10:00-10:45am, is designed for our youngest musicians as an introduction to sound and creative movement. This class will be geared toward babies and toddlers who are not yet walking or just beginning to take those first steps (newborn-2yrs). Students will play instruments, explore their voices, and try out some dance moves with the help of their caregivers.
Tuesdays, 11:00-11:45am, is designed for busy, active toddlers and preschoolers (18mo-4yrs). While this class will also be filled with song, dance, and instrument exploration, there will be extra emphasis placed on relationships and building social/emotional skills with peers. Caregivers will assist their toddlers with activities, but there will be more opportunities for student choice and independence.
Dates: Tuesdays, November 8 through December 13, 2022.
Location: Music Works Iowa Classroom, located in Mount Vernon’s First Street Community Center
Tuition: $120 per student. Cost includes six 45-minute classes, materials, and song sheets and videos to continue the fun at home!
