A Summer of Music at Music Works Iowa

Music Works Iowa is offering four camps for all ages this summer. These camps are open to the community and will be taught by incredible teachers. Join us this summer to create, connect, and become the musician that you want to be!

Ages – Incoming 3rd-6th graders
Dates – June 8 – June 13, 2026
Times – 9 AM – 11 AM daily
Cost – $150 – Includes all materials and a camp T-shirt!
Teachers include Julia Andrews, Nicole Philbrick, and Sophie Walker

Students will explore drumming, Irish fiddling, bell choir, and creative music and ensemble activities. Campers will try new instruments, build confidence, make friends, and experience the power of creating music together. 

Whether your child is brand new to music or already taking lessons, Music Makers Camp is designed to spark curiosity and nurture creativity in a welcoming, supportive setting.

Dates – June 15-June 19
Times – 9:30 AM – 11:30 AM daily

Stop guessing. Start understanding. Theory Bootcamp is an intensive, practical workshop designed for students who want to strengthen their music fundamentals and build real confidence in reading and understanding music. If you’ve ever thought, “I should probably know this…” — this is your moment. Build clarity. Build confidence. Build musicianship.

We will cover Music fundamentals, note reading in all clefs, key signatures, major and minor scales, and practical music theory skills.

This camp is ideal for:

Strum Into Summer at our week-long Ukulele Camp for grades 3–6! Whether you’ve never picked up a ukulele or already know a few chords, this camp is the perfect place to build skills, make friends, and grow your musical confidence in a fun, encouraging environment. Campers will learn easy chords, play upbeat songs and music games, explore rhythm and even try a little songwriting—all leading up to a mini showcase at the end of the week! Ukuleles are small, friendly, and perfect for young musicians, so success comes quickly and smiles come even faster. Spots are limited, so grab your ukulele (or borrow one from us!) and come strum, sing, and shine!

Saxophone Chamber Camp

Ages – Incoming High School through adult
Dates – July 13 – July 17, 2026
Times – 9;30 AM – 11:30 AM daily
Cost – $150 – Includes all materials and a camp T-shirt!

Dive in to a week of chamber music with our Saxophone Quartet Camp, designed for high school saxophonists ready to deepen their ensemble skills in a focused setting. Students will refine the core elements of chamber playing—listening, balance, blend, communication, and shared musical leadership. Through carefully selected repertoire and guided rehearsal work, musicians will learn how independent parts interlock to create a unified artistic voice. The week culminates in a final showcase performance for family and friends. Space is limited for this intensive, collaborative experience in advanced ensemble musicianship.
