Music Works Iowa is excited to announce our Artist in Residence program. The MWI Artist in Residence Program encourages new ensembles to rehearse, create, and perform music by providing ensembles with rehearsal and performance spaces free of charge. Music Works Iowa believes in building community through music and the Artist in Residence program builds our community one note at a time.
Our 2025-26 Music Works Iowa Artist in Residence is Mount Vernon Brass. Mount Vernon Brass is made up of 6 brass players from the Mount Vernon Area. The musicians are seasoned professionals that have played together locally in community bands and music theater pits. Mount Vernon Brass formed to give the ensemble a chance to explore professional brass ensemble music.
